At the next general P&C meeting, Monday 5th June, P&C will vote on the following motion:
"The Newcastle High School P&C will cease operating the Newcastle High School P&C Canteen no earlier than the end of term 4 2017, and will support Newcastle High School in alternative management options."
It should be noted that only P&C members who attend the meeting and are financial members before 5th June 2017 are eligible to vote.
Note: this date has been bought forward from the 12th June due to the Queen's birthday Public Holiday.
Please note that for security, the front doors of the school will be locked 5 minutes prior to the commencement of P&C meetings. Access can still be made by entering through the car park and walking past the Cultural Centre to the Staff House.
School Plan 2018 - 2020 - NHS is seeking your input in the 2018 - 2020 school plan. NHS engages with students through the 'Tell them from me survey' and this year we would like to increase parent and carer engagement in the process. Is this of interest to you? If so I would love to hear from you. Engagement sessions will be run at the school in small groups by P&C members or can also be carried out through one on one telephone conversations. However you would like to share your thoughts, we're listening! Please send me an email or give me a call on 0411 593 842 to register your interest.
Research shows that a vital ingredient for a student's engagement and participation in learning is parental involvement. Children need help, support and involvement from their parents to succeed at school, and a great way to do this is by being a part of P&C. All members of the school community are very welcome.
Our P&C helps maintain the strong partnership between our school and parents & carers, raises funds to assist the school, and builds our community. If you would like to receive P&C updates, please email
Even if you are not able to attend P&C meetings, this is a great way to be kept informed and identify ways that you may be able to become involved at Newcastle High School.
The role of P &C allows parents and carers to be partners in the education process and to play an active role in the education of their children.

P&C General Information
What is Newcastle High School P&C?
NHS Parents & Citizens Association is a group of parents, guardians, grandparents, teachers and interested people who are committed to ensuring the best possible education for the students of Newcastle High School.
What does P&C do?
P&C assists the school to provide the greatest educational opportunities for our children in a number of ways.
Our best known activity is fundraising: we identify areas of need and raise funds for those specific items.
But we do much more than that: we get to talk directly with teachers and staff about the school, we sit on interview panels for hiring of staff, we oversee the management of the canteen, we assist at school functions, help out with gardening and beautification of the grounds, and we help in any way we can.
How can I be involved?
The Newcastle High School P&C Association meets at 5.30pm on the second Monday of each month (excluding school holidays, check the school website and newsletter for dates). Come into the main entrance foyer on Parkway Avenue and follow the signs.
You can just listen, have your say, or you can put your hand up to help out with various activities.
