Year 8 Medieval Day

A Medieval Day for year 8 History has been planned for Tuesday the 10th April as an in school activity at Newcastle High School. This activity is complementary to the year 8 History course topics – The Black Death. The incursion will go for periods 1 – 3, and students will attend class as per usual in period 4. Concession Cards for Over 16s

16 or over? Have you applied for your concession card? Concession cards are issued to all school students 16 and over who are attending a certified high school. These cards permit students to travel at concession rates on all Sydney Trains, State Transit and privately operated buses and government ferries. The cards also enable students to purchase a child/youth Opal card and a concession fare on all NSW services. Concession cards may be obtained from Mrs Jennings in the school's Library.... Read more

2018 Resource Allocation Model funding

In October 2017, all NSW public schools will receive a 2018 Planned School Budget Allocation Report. The report will assist with the management of the total budget delivered to schools through the Resource Allocation Model (RAM). The Resource Allocation Model (RAM) methodology distributes funding based on the individual needs of students and schools. This gives schools greater flexibility to make local decisions. NDIS continues its roll out across NSW

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) started in NSW in July 2016, rolling out across half of the state. The rollout for the rest of NSW started on 1 July 2017 and the NDIS will be fully rolled out by mid 2018. The NSW government is writing to the families of children and young people with disability who currently receive disability supports in the rollout areas to advise how and when they will enter the NDIS.
